Assessing the effects of pesticide use among small-scale banana farmers on the environment in Sheema District, Uganda

by Ogolla John Martin

Pesticides have become an essential part of modern agriculture, but their effects on the environment cannot be ignored. The use of pesticides can have serious consequences on non-target organisms, including frogs and toads. These amphibians are highly sensitive to changes in their environment and are considered an indicator species for the health of ecosystems. As indicator species, they serve as a warning that the health of our ecosystems is in jeopardy. It’s time to rethink our use of pesticides and find safer, more sustainable ways to protect our crops. By reducing our reliance on harmful chemicals, we can ensure a healthier future for our environment and the creatures that call it home. Let’s work together to protect the environment for the sake of frogs, toads, and all the other species that share our planet.
