Student and Early Career Professionals

Thank you for your interest in the Student and Early Career Professional Community (SECP) 

What is SECP?

SustainFood network focuses on the development of skills for students and early career professionals (SECP). The SECP Community is a SustainFood working group that provides the following opportunities: 

  • Expert-facilitated lectures and workshops
  • Mentorship development
  • Two-week, live-in, and intensive Collaborative Learning Schools (CLS) focusing on topics related to SustainFood thematic areas.
  • Online student presentations and webinars to share current or recent research projects with the community 
  • Collaboration and networking with others with SustainFood
  • Student-led research interest groups to increase students’ interest and capability in transdisciplinary research through international collaborations.
  • Collab-a-Thon in which multi-disciplinary student and researcher teams collaboratively research, ideate, and prototype new solutions addressing a significant problem in sustainable food systems, food security, etc.

 

Additional Opportunities: 

We have leadership opportunities with the following: facilitating, webinar planning, newsletter, social media, mentorship program design, interest group leaders. If you would like to contribute to the leadership and have additional ideas, let us know!
